Patrick D. Mulcahy, president of TeamChina/California,LLC., Costa Mesa, California and Beijing, China, has specialized for nearly two decades in the development of infrastructure and special event projects in China. He is a specialist in government relations, contract negotiation and approval cycles. Strong relationships have been developed in China with decision makers at numerous County and Province levels and the State level. He has worked with senior government officials and business leaders in China, South Korea, Hong Kong and the United States.
Special emphasis is placed on clean air energy generation, energy conservation, environment issues, water reclamation and wastewater treatment centers. The company currently has developed a 110 MW clean air, environmentally friendly power plant, currently the largest of its type in China, located near Luoyang City, Henan Province. The Project was the recipient of the International Energy Fund Award from the California Technology,

The company has numerous water reclamation, wastewater treatment and environmentally conscious joint venture water projects in development in China. In January, 2002, Team China/California entered into a new joint venture company named Team China/EPPA (Environmental Protection Promotion Assoc. (Hong Kong). The company has signed a number of Exclusive Agreements to develop and finance Waste Water Treatment Projects in Shandong Province, China with the "best available technology". These projects will implement the BOOT (Build-Own-Operate-Transfer) strategy with the protections of the Cooperative Joint Venture Agreement.
In 2001, Team China entered into a joint venture to export USA and California made hospital products into the China healthcare market.
Beginning in 1984, Mr. Mulcahy traveled extensively in Asia and developed positive government contracts and relationships in South Korea, Hong Kong, and China. In 1990, Team China became involved with large, multi-national joint venture projects in China industry. The company provided Feasibility Studies, business plans and negotiated joint venture contracts in the oil and petrochemical industry. These projects were located in Hainan Island and Xinjiang Provinces. Mr. Mulcahy was a leader in the development of these projects, including joint venture negotiations, power and water purchase agreements, City, County and State approvals, approval from the State Development and Planning Commission and the Province Planning and Power Committees in China.
Patrick Mulcahy has developed positive relationships with the United States government, particularly in Commerce. In 1998, he participated in Secretary Daley's "Commercial Policy Forum on Infrastructure" (Washington D.C.), and Ambassador David Aaron's "Financing China's Energy Needs" Conference (Beijing). In 1999 and 2000, he was a guest speaker in Irvine, California, Beijing and Shanghai, China for the China Energy 2000 conference. The California Energy Commission and the U.S. Department of Energy sponsored these conferences. In 2001, he spoke at the International Women in Business Conference for the United States Department of Commerce.
Mr. Mulcahy has made many public presentations to Chinese and USA government officials and industry leaders, both in China and the USA. He has spoken at numerous international forums on USA-Asian trade relations, including "China State Science & Technology Commission"(Beijing), Pacific Northwest China Business Symposium with the U.S. Department of Commerce, the China Energy Summit (Beijing). He has lectured numerous times at California State Universities and Colleges, including University of Southern California (USC), Los Angeles (UCLA), Irvine (UCI), and Fullerton and Chapman University.
Mr. Mulcahy served as Special Advisor to the President's Council on Physical Fitness & Health, nominated by George Allen and appointed by President Ronald Reagan. He represented the Mayor of Seoul, Korea for the Olympic Parade of the 1988 Olympics.
His first business experience in China was in 1985, as the developer/organizer of the first professional basketball tour in China. This Coca Cola sponsored Good Will Competition was produced live and for international television. Later, in response to the needs of the Shanghai Mayor's office, and due to his extensive history in international sports marketing, Mr. Mulcahy became a consultant to the East-West Asian Games, the 7th China National Games (Shanghai) and the Beijing Olympic Organizing Committee.
Civic awards include the Senate of the State of California, the City of Los Angeles, City of Santa Barbara, the International Decathlon for Academics, and the National Fitness Academy, and others. He has received several certificates from Chinese government entities, including the "Torch" Award from the State Science & Technology, Beijing. The Orange County Business Council for the "Orange County at the Year 2000" festivities named Mr. Mulcahy an "Outstanding Achiever of the Century".
Team China/California has developed important experience and relationships in import-export, business strategy, finance, government, marketing and engineering in the USA, China, South Korea and other Asian nations. The company is supportive of USA and California corporations that desire to enter the Asian and Chinese marketplace.
The company has a Beijing representative office with experienced managers in finance, trade, export and political connections. This office provides the access to Chinese accounting procedures, taxation, customs and other business requirements.
